Fantastic Finds for Our Furry Friends

Hi there!

If you read my bio then you know that I have an adorable cat name Nala and she is, without a doubt, Joey and I’s fur baby. When thinking about what I should write about next within my lifestyle category, I wanted to blog about something that is current and relevant to now. With this global pandemic going on, I figured we are all spending more time with our fur babies these days, so why not treat them too?

Now, before I dive into all the goodies and links, I would like to take this opportunity to share with you the precious fur babies that have been/still are part of my life!

I got my first dog when I was 11 years old. Her name was Mylee, and she was a rescue Maltese/Pomeranian mix by bread but an angel by heart. Then came my sophomore year of high school when we added another sweetheart to the family. Her name is Lola and she is a rescue poodle. Growing up with these two “fur sisters” taught me so much in life. More importantly they showed me the true meaning of unconditional love and loyalty. After living an incredible 15 years of a beautiful well-lived life, my loving white angel, Mylee, went to puppy heaven in January 2019, just a few short days after my last visit home for the holidays. Although losing her sister, my sweet Lola is still living her best life with my parents and still gets over-the-moon excited when I come home to visit.

Rewind back to my junior year of college. After much begging, I was able to convince Joey to rescue a cat with me and we ended up selecting Nala through the St. Francis Society in Tampa, Fl. At the time, she was living in a foster home after being found under a highway bridge near Ybor City. From the moment we took our sweet Nala home, we knew that she would be our little furry baby. She is now 6 years old, lives in the Nation’s capital, and is living her best life. When she is not climbing her cat tower, or chasing Joey around, she is snuggling in a lap purring herself to sleep and when she travels back to Florida with us (which tends to be often), you can find her laying out in the sun in the screen room chasing lizards.
