I don’t know about all of you but this Global Pandemic has certainly changed my fashion style. Shopping nowadays looks much different than it did eight months ago. Flashback to early 2020…if I had the option between leggings and denim, I would always choose denim. These days, you can find me in leggings paired with a graphic t-shirt or oversized sweatshirt five days a week! Perusing around Nordstrom, I would find myself in the heels section, now, I find myself gravitating towards casual sneakers almost every time.
This year has taught me many things but one of them is a new perspective on Fashion…the simpler, the better! Don’t get me wrong, I still love keeping up with all Fashion trends and getting dressed up for date night but if there’s a way I can dress a look down or add simplicity to an outfit, I’m going to find it!
Let’s take a cute Fall dress for example; previously I would dress this up with over the knee boots, some type of jacket, scarf (depending on the time of year of course), possibly a belt and my hair flowing in the wind. But why spend all of that time dressing up when you can keep your style effortless?! Let’s add a cute felt hat to hide day three hair (less time worrying about styling), a pair of casual sneakers or even booties and finish the look with a girly denim jacket.
I love a good midi skirt paired with a cropped sweater! Pro tip, if you don’t have a cropped sweater, then use one of your favorite oversized sweaters and tuck it into your bra to give the illusion of a cropped look. You can easily pair this look with casual sneakers and a felt hat or denim jacket for an effortless daytime look. Want to take this same look from day to night? Switch out the sneakers for booties and a denim jacket for a leather jacket. Now you’re ready to go enjoy some cocktails with your girls or a date night with your significant other!
Let’s talk about bodysuits! A bodysuit is easily one of my favorite clothing items. Why? Because of their versatility! They offer a ton of styling options and can pretty much be worn with any type of bottom. Not to mention, they range from casual, to glam and even sexy. You can pair a bodysuit with your favorite pair of jeans, leather jacket and casual sneakers. Want to be more trendy? Pair the same bodysuit with a fall color cardigan, booties and a felt hat. Ever heard of the shacket? It’s a shirt that’s thick enough to be worn as a jacket! Pair this with a bodysuit, jeans and either sneakers or booties. You can wear the shacket over lightweight turtlenecks with leggings this time of year and under a classic wool coat in the winter. Want to elevate the shacket look? Try a plaid long-line shacket with a sweater dress and knee-high boots.
